Appliances

Appliance Metrics

Connect Go security appliances to tenant-scoped runtime metrics for policy sync status, blocked activity, active connections, and last telemetry time.

Tenant-scoped

Metrics are stored by tenant and appliance identity, so each customer only sees their own runtime state.

Stable identity

Set APPLIANCE_ID for each deployment. If omitted, appliances use the host name, then fall back to a type-based instance id.

Dashboard ready

The dashboard Appliances tab shows sync status, blocked request totals, active connections, and last telemetry.

Configuration

  • Create an API key with ingest:appliances. Existing appliance deployments may keep using ingest:connectors.
  • Set BLACKSHIELD_API_URL to the API origin and BLACKSHIELD_API_KEY to the scoped key.
  • Set APPLIANCE_ID to a stable name such as perimeter-prod-edge-a or network-eu-west-1-a.

Example container environment

BLACKSHIELD_API_URL=https://api.blackshield.chaplau.com
BLACKSHIELD_API_KEY=bs_live_...
APPLIANCE_ID=perimeter-prod-edge-a
POLL_INTERVAL=30s

Success checks

  • Start or restart the appliance after setting the environment variables.
  • Wait for the first policy or threat-intel sync to complete.
  • Open Dashboard, then Appliances, and confirm the appliance id appears with recent telemetry.
  • If the sync badge is out of sync, verify the API URL, API key scope, and outbound network access.
